DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we celebrate Milton Friedman’s 101st birthday with guest speaker George Leef with the Pope Center at a luncheon at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory\, NC. Friedman was one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. He dealt often with the deficiencies in our K-12 system\, but wrote relatively little about higher education. Nevertheless\, he made sharp observations about the problems we face in higher education and set forth some radical solutions. George will take what we know about Friedman’s views on higher education and use them to discuss current trends and developments as Friedman would have seen them.
