Education Book Discussion Featuring John Rose

On Thursday, December 2nd, the Martin Center welcomed author and Associate Director of the Arete Initiative John Rose for a virtual talk on his book Until Our Minds Rest in Thee: Open-Mindedness, Intellectual Diversity, and the Christian Life.

Rose’s presentation is the second in the Martin Center’s bi-monthly series of talks with authors of books about higher education.

In addition to helping coordinate Arete’s programming, Dr. Rose teaches courses in Happiness and Human Flourishing, Christian Ethics, Conservatism, and Political Polarization. His research concerns the tradition of virtue ethics and Christian theology. John holds a BA in religion from Wabash College, an MTS from Duke Divinity School, and a PhD in Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary.


Annual Policy Banquet featuring Professor Gail Heriot

The Martin Center held its annual policy banquet on Friday, October 29th—this year featuring Professor Gail Heriot—to discuss the “dubious expediency” of racial preferences. The event was based on ideas discussed in a book of the same name.
