Dr. Jenna A. Robinson, president of the James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal, joined The Pete Kaliner Show to discuss the biggest higher education issues facing North Carolina students, families, and policymakers.
During the interview, Dr. Robinson broke down the UNC System’s new funding model and highlighted key provisions in the state budget, including the expansion of community college workforce initiatives and a new faculty retirement incentive program. She also noted that the final budget included far fewer cuts than many university leaders had anticipated, with most of the reductions being common-sense reforms.
The conversation concluded with a discussion of artificial intelligence’s impact on higher education. Dr. Robinson outlined several ways faculty can adapt, including greater use of the Socratic method, oral examinations, and traditional blue book testing.
