Donors Under Fire: The Critical Importance of Donor Intent to Higher Ed Philanthropy
October 9, 6:00 pm–8:00 pm
This event is being co-sponsored by the Bastiat Society of Raleigh.
At a time when philanthropy and wealth are under attack – and even cited as “failures” of both capitalism and democracy – it is critical to understand what donor intent is, and is not. Donor intent is best understood as an expression of our values and principles in our charitable giving, and protecting donor intent demonstrates respect for individual differences and choice, maintains the integrity of private philanthropy over time, and encourages continued voluntary action to sustain civil society.
On October 9, Joanne Florino will speak on the importance of donor intent to higher education philanthropy.
This event is free and open to the public, but please consider making a $25 donation to help sustain the chapter.
Eventbrite registration required.
