James Otteson

James R. Otteson received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Having previously taught Yeshiva University, NYU, Georgetown University, and the University of Alabama, he is currently the Thomas W. Smith Presidential Chair in Business Ethics and professor of Economics at Wake Forest University. He is author of Adam Smith's Marketplace of Life (2002); Actual Ethics (2006), which won the Templeton Enterprise Award in 2007; Adam Smith (2011); and The End of Socialism (2014). His most recent book is Honorable Business: A New Framework for Business Ethics, which will be published by Oxford University Press in 2018.
