Dr. Bagchi is an assistant professor in government and director of women's studies at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in political theory. She has published a chapter in the edited volume Political Philosophy Comes to Rick's: Casablanca and American Civic Culture, an extract on Charlotte Perkins Gilman in the forthcoming Cambridge Dictionary of Political Thought, chapters on democracy, federalism, and civil rights in American National Government by Adam Lawrence, as well as a book review in the International Feminist Journal of Politics. She is currently teaching a course on Lord of the Rings and Political Philosophy. Her areas of interest are literature and politics and ancient political theory.
