Dorothy Schulz

Dorothy Moses Schulz, Ph.D., is an emerita professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). A retired police captain, she has attended a police academy, served as an academy instructor, and was for more than twenty years a professor of police studies. She is the author of From Social Worker to Crimefighter: Women in United States Municipal Policing (Praeger, 1995), and Breaking the Brass Ceiling: Women Police Chiefs and Their Paths to the Top (Praeger, 2004), and a co-editor of Women and Policing in America: Classic and Contemporary Readings (Wolters Kluwer, 2011).
