Nicholas Wolfinger

Nicholas H. Wolfinger is professor of family and consumer studies and adjunct professor of sociology at the University of Utah, where he has taught since 1998. He has authored four books, mostly recently Thanks for Nothing: The Economics of Single Motherhood since 1980 (Oxford University Press, 2024). In 2025, he edited Professor Speak Out: The Truth about Campus Investigations (Academica Press), an anthology of stories from 22 faculty members and former faculty members. He is also the author of about 40 scholarly articles or chapters, as well as short pieces in The Atlantic, National Review, Huffington Post, and other outlets.
