Steve Rea

Steve Rea has served the North Carolina nuclear energy industry for 40 years. In 2021, he retired from Heyward Incorporated after 33 years in its employ. His last assignment was Vice President of Nuclear Projects. He has been recognized by Governor Jim Hunt with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his work in promoting North Carolina’s power industry. The NC State Mechanical Engineering Department has inducted him into the Mechanical Engineering Hall of Fame for his work in North Carolina’s power industry. Additionally, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the nuclear energy industry from Rotork Controls.
